October
News Letter --
As we
embrace Fall take comfort in the falling leaves and browning
land, it is just one more piece of the
never ending circle of life. Learn from the leaves the art of
surrender as you watch them twirl to the ground with
the knowing it is a time of harvest, of giving thanks and of
preparing for the next few months as we head towards the equinox and
in to winter.
Horse
blankets are all repaired and now I only have to water proof the
winter ones, on one of our last hot days, which is usually in October
some time. Will be watching for the weather changes and be
prepared with tent water proofing as that works the best!
Echo
has turned her very dark seal brown so her winter coat is in, not
heavy or thick but very dappled and beautiful. Cheyanne is just starting to grow hers and her
black is ever so black and her white ever so whate.
Destinee is the last to start her winter
coat this year and they all are late, they usually start in August,
but they waited this year, maybe winter is going to come late, and be
very wet in Jan/Feb 2013.
It is
cool enough to do some baking, make some banana bread, and to start
to think about what else needs to be done before our first winter
storm, or our first very cold nights. Weather stripping the
doors comes to mind, need to put that on the list, cleaning the space
heaters, and my portable propane heater would be a good idea
too! Making sure I have supplies in for humans and pets, as
well as extra hay pellets, rice bran and flax seed.
I was
reflecting the other day just how fast we are loosing daylight
and how time has flown, most of the birds have flown south, no
geese overhead yet, and now we are getting ready for Halloween, which
I love, I bought a wonderful wreath at Walmart
it is so cute, and have other decorations to put out. Next will
be Thanksgiving, and all of us have lots to be thankful for in our
lives, I sure do, and then the dreded
Christmas shopping....
Today
October 1st would have been my Dad's 90th birthday - Happy Birthday
Dad - you would have been 90 years old today, but you have been in
Heaven now for 20 years in November, and I know you watch over me and
mine, and you are proud of all we do. My kids have grown in to fine
adults, with kids of their own, and your great- grandkids would have
made you so proud too - I miss you each and every day, and have since
the day I was there to let you go, sending you on in your journey in
time, pulling the plug and releasing you from a body that no
longer served you. I loved you then and I love you now! I miss our
Dad and Daughter talks, and there are so many days I wish you were
here to share with you all that is going
on. Namaste!

Winter
Stable Blend and Warming Winter Tea --
By this
first part of October the Winter Stable Blend will be mixed and
in stock, we are waiting for the delivery of herbs, and we will be
offering a Warming Winter Tea for horses, along with a DeTox tea for horses and for dogs, some people
take it too I have been told!
There
is peppermint, ginger, and other warming herbs in the Winter Stable
Blend and it is a nice taste treat to sprinkle on a warm bran mash or
a bucket. Look for it by mid month!

Thoughts
Sometimes
people come into your life and you know right away that they were
meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, teach you a lesson,
or to help you figure out who you are or who
you want to become. You never know who these people may be (possibly
your roommate, neighbor, coworker, long lost friend, lover, or even a
complete stranger), *but when you lock eyes with them, you know at
that very moment they will affect your life in some profound way.*
And sometimes things
happen to you that may seem horrible, painful, and unfair at first,
but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles
you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or
heart.
*Everything happens for
a reason.*
Nothing happens by
chance or by means of good luck.
Illness, injury, love,
lost moments of true greatness, and sheer stupidity all occur to test
the limits of your soul.
Without these small tests, whatever they may be, life
would be like a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere. It
would be safe and comfortable, but dull and utterly pointless.
The people you meet who
affect your life, and the success and downfalls you experience, help
to create who you are and who you become. *Even the bad experiences
can be learned from.* In fact, they are probably the most poignant
and important ones.
If someone hurts you,
betrays you, or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped
you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious when you
open your heart.
If someone loves you,
love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but
because in a way, they are teaching you to love and how to open your
heart and eyes to things.
*Make every day count.*
Appreciate every moment
and take from those moments everything that you possibly can for you
may never be able to experience it again.
Talk to people that you
have never talked to before, and actually listen.
Let yourself fall in
love, break free, and set your sights high.
Hold your head up
because you have every right to.
Tell yourself you are a
great individual and believe in yourself, for if you don't believe in
yourself, it will be hard for others to believe in you.
You can make of your
life anything you wish.
Create your own life
and then go out and live it with absolutely no regrets.
*Most importantly,* *if
you LOVE someone tell him or her, for you never know what tomorrow
may have in store.*
And learn a lesson in
life each day that you live.
That's The Story Of
Life. ~ Unknown
