100% Certified Organic Icelandic Kelp Meal - Supplies Iodine & Bioavailable Trace Minerals

The organic kelp that we purchase is grown in the cleanest and richest sea waters on earth in the Northern Atlantic. Organic Kelp delivers a wide array of of minerals and nutrients essential to your horses well being including 750 ppm of Iodine to help support thyroid and metabolic health.

As a beneficial ingredient in many equine diets, Kelp is the original source of Iodine, and comes from the “brown algae” family of plants. Kelp meal supplies sea salt and micro minerals.

Kelp has been used for the natural treatment of an under-active thyroid in horses and humans for decades. Our 100% organic kelp has a rich ocean smell and dark green appearance. I use it for my own horses amd minis for health hooves and coats.

Eco-Friendly Harvesting to Protect Local Environments

Kelp is a powerful sea plant able to bio-accumulate the abundant nutrients found in sea water. The company who harvests and prepares our kelp knows how to preserve this nutrition for maximum value. They are careful to rotate their harvest sites and protect the local eco systems. Once harvested they use a proprietary renewable geothermal drying system to lock in the kelp's powerful trace minerals.

Certified 100% Organic Kelp

The kelp we purchase is third-party inspected and certified by the US Dept of Agriculture (USDA) and Quality Assurance International (QAI) and is Organic Minerals Review Institute (OMR) listed as 100% Organic (Ascophyllum nodosum). This company has been harvesting and processing this renewable resource for over thirty years.

Usage for Minis

Feed at the rate of 1 to 2 rounded teaspoons per day, according to body weight, for an average 250lb +/= mini.

Top-dress or mix in bucket feed.

A 1 Lb. bag would last a little over 2 months time if fed at the rate of 1 rounded teaspoon per day.

I would not recommend free-feeding Kelp, although some have in the past.
